Hey folks! Looking for a fun snow day or rainy day project that takes less than an hour?
Check out my $5 snare drum video!
$5 snare drum?! How dare you! Snare drums should be expensive and also a pain in the butt!
I know I know, but for gear heads it becomes not a snare drum, but a "master percussionist drum accessory".
It's a fun project that looks and sounds cool. Maybe you'll like it. Thanks.

Thanks dtk! The cellphone clips do it no justice.
Drum machine? Those don't exist in my world!
Just kidding. My wife practices her guitar to a click sometimes. I have to leave the room.

Cool...it is a creative way to do a kit add on. I like your idea of leaving it in the bag and pulling it out as an effect layer.

I think it's silly, but that's just me. It woulda been great when I was a kid banging on trash cans! 37274240_1077328365748015_7125571213325238272_n.jpg

    Gosh.
    Well that's fine.
I adore Mr. Peart and believe he's one of the greats.
I was definitely directly influenced by him for a time, as I am sure many DFO members were as well.
I would call him, among other things, innovative.
When not on the road with RUSH, he bicycled across much of Europe, mainland China, and Africa with a few hand drums, and other percussive "toys".
I can't help but wonder if he would have appreciated having a $5 snare drum in his saddlebags in such situations.
It is after all, among other things, lightweight.
But I will likely never have the opportunity to share ideas with Mr. Peart.
Perhaps if it were developed and improved by a multitude of drummers all in one place with helpful advice?
    Meh.
Someone would just slap an ugly logo on it in the end I suppose. Then jack up the price.
Especially if a celebrity drummer endorsed it.
But innovation keeps happening somehow. Maybe from ideas?

    Imitation isn't innovation people.
Despite some internet troll comparing my video to a pile of garbage, I hope you might have a look anyway.
