Right on - you're in!!! Lot of nice people here but hey, they let me in, too!
Checked out your channel, definitely some interesting stuff in there.
Look forward to seeing more ...
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts...
Welcome, Curtis! You will find that about 3/4ths of the guys here are of the . . . hrumpth . . . mature generation like me - knock, knock, knocking on heaven's door at age 65 with bad health, bad heart, and bad breath. The soul is still intact and functioning as designed, though.
I think you have tipped us over the edge when it comes to unique drum sets and percussion experimentation. The set looks like a full-tilt revival of the earliest days of the contraption sets. I can just see my band's faces if I walked into rehearsals carrying a kit like yours. And I'm wondering how the set would sound as we launch into Carry On or American Band.
Anyway, it's good to see a complete newbie fondled and welcomed so warmly by the inmates here. It warms the heart. You must be special, or something.
Last thing: please provide your location (at least your state) in your info. There are lots of reasons why, but we can talk about it later.
So, welcome with butter and cream on top.
Thank you Ely!
Thank you Castnblast! Does your username refer to casting and blasting cymbals and such?
Hahaha! Thank you GeeDeeEmm!
I am currently in Seattle, but I'm not from here. I will look for where to place that in my member info. Thanks.
My contraptions definitely can cause a stir. I suppose it depends on the musician, but many enjoy them.
But I'm no musician, I'm a drummer! Musicians are the people who gather around me while I do my thing!
Just kidding. Many drummers are both.
Oh and my first grade teacher thought I was special, but I was tested and I'm O.K.
Definitely lots of nice people! Thanks JazzDrumGuy!
Thank you Tmcfour!
Awesome! Thank you dangermoney!
Actually refers to blasting wild game...
I fish alot and hunt a little.
Other times I fish alot and smoke a little, so it kind of has a dbl meaning.
Either way you look at it, I fish alot.
How about you, what’s up with the dragon?
BTW, interesting instrument you built, and cool groove at 2:10 on the intro video you posted.
Nice finger control...
Castnblast! Dig it.
Mine is just Dungeons & Dragons except Drummers & Dragons. I use to play Dungeons & Dragons as a kid and I still enjoy reading the old books and the art and what-not.
Another time in the past I used Drink, Drank, Drum.
I'll go watch that point in the video you mentioned. Maybe I can do it twice! Heh.
I just finished the contraption so if I keep it as is for awhile maybe I'll improve on it.
Wilkommen and kamisaraki. Enjoy your stay here.
Welcome aboard, were glad your here! A cool blend between world percussion and traditional kit.
Welcome to DFO Curtis!
