on a mahogany finish Slingerland snare from the early 70s. Listed on Facebook marketplace about 10 minutes from where I live, already sold by the time I saw it. Horrible pictures, couldn't see how many lugs but I could see the re-ring inside so it was a 3-ply shell. $50!

Same basic thing happened to me last year. Beautiful 1960's blue sparkle Slingy snare popped up for $90 on CL around 30 minutes away. The ad couldn't have been more than a couple hours old. I was the 2nd person to call. I saw it up on Ebay a few weeks later....fetched around $275.

    I feel this.
    About eight years ago ...
I have a local guy that locates vintage kits and he snagged one that he knew I would walk away with.
It was a 1959 Ludwig gold sparkle Downbeat with a COB crimp bed snare. Zildjian cymbals. All of the hardware and a stocked roller trap case.
I weighed the cost (~$1200) against the current number of kits I had ... I passed. Couldn’t justify the added kit.
To this day ... I kick myself.
