So after years of searching I finally got my hands on an 18" Yamaha Maple Custom bass drum. . . Unfortunately I received it damaged from shipping. So I went ahead and took this opportunity to try fixing it. Worse case scenario... I search again for a replacement hoop.

I know it's cliched to say, but it's true: the hoop will be more likely to break elsewhere than where this one's been mended. The glue joint is now stronger than the wood itself, and I've seen the proof of this numerous times.

So, an excellent repair, Zack, and another fine video. Keep it up, bub.

*Is there anything in the drum world that is more impressive-looking than a Yamaha bass drum? I think not. There are better-sounding bass drums, but none that look so purposeful and professional.
