    Hi
I have this 15x12 Slingerland Parade drum with a 1966 date stamp inside the shell. I picked it up 7 or 8 years ago and at that time I refinished the outer shell. It was in bad shape - the leg rest had created a deep gouge in the outer ply. I sanded the scratches and the gouges best I could and put some Tung Oil and wipe-on Poly on it.

I'm pretty sure the shell is Mahogany.

I'm asking for the Slingerland folks here for help in identifying the drum as to model and maybe someone has a catalog photo?

A small thing: The butt end of the strainer is curved - which way does the curve go - up or down? Or does it even matter?

    Thanks.
    Gary

At the least it has a maple outer ply ("M"), which makes for easier refinishing and means it was probably a lacquer finish drum originally.
