Just wondering what to use to clean the bronze shell. Thanks for your time.
It depends on what you need to get off of the shell. I've never worked with bronze, except for cymbals. Bar Keeper's Friend is always my go-to for chrome...it claims to be safe for bronze, but I've never tried. Test on the inside of the shell. It's cheap and works quite well.
If the lacquer finish is still intact, then I would merely recommend wiping it off with a micro-fiber cloth.
If it's really "dirty" I would move up to include some soap/water, followed by a rinse and dry step.
Just be kind on the clear cote as that is what your really cleaning, unless somebody carelessly removed before you got it.
Pay heed to this advice, not mine!
