I completed my quest to have examples of all four colors of 70s Sonor Acryls. Took awhile but located a 14/15/16/24 kit in blue. My wife and I made a fun road trip to Nashville to pick them up.

Just pulled the trigger on a Noble & Cooley SS Walnut 14"x7" from Memphis DS. This is my first N&C, and my first solid shell drum. Really excited about this one!
Remember to loosen the resonant side before you make any batter head changes.
The N&C SS snares love having the snare side head cranked and a Remo CS Black dot works very nicely on these snares . Enjoy !!

I am really loving the whole Gretsch thing - sound, feel, build.
(I have another post detailing some finish cracking on the floor tom.)
I'll get a picture of everything together in my drum room.

Wasn't trying nobody else bid!
Apparently like brand new '69 time capsule 100% factory original barely used. Not a mark on it bob's yer uncle

Brings back memories! Looks like my first student drum, but mine was purchased mid 70s. I spent hours dreaming in that catalog!!! Thanks for sharing.

What unique here is Blue olive badge 1969 and Blue olive badge with raw brushed aluminum (unpainted) shell '69-'70 only. Fond memories of those catalogues as well!

My awesome wife purchased a kit for me from my best friend, who was helping out a friend. The kit was custom ordered from Ludwig, one owner, and has some provenance too (I will post names later if it is okay). 1979, 6ply, first gen power toms with small classic lugs, in red cortex. 9x8-9x10-11x12-12x13-13x14-16x16-16x18-16x22 and 6.5x14 rock concert snare!

I just received an Evans snare kit from Sweetwater, including 2 heads and Puresound wires, along with a pair of sticks. I‘m putting it on a Pearl 3x14 brass piccolo that is on it’s way.

Nice little surprise bonus left me with a windfall. Couldn't decide between the Copperphonic raw, or the Starphonic Walnut, so I got them both. I need help.
