Hey everyone! I figured I should introduce myself.
I'm another new recruit from Drummerworld. I have been active there for nearly twenty years, and like the people I've made friends with there, but it's just not functioning properly these days, so I thought I'd pop in here.
I've played for a little over 50 years now. I've never made my entire living from drumming alone, but I've played constantly over that time. Currently I consider myself an advanced hobbyist, and only gig occasionally, but I still play every day.
In my earlier years I was all about rock and prog, with a little jazz thrown in. My teachers mostly came from jazz backgrounds, and I took some music theory and music for educators in college.
These days my interests run a bit quieter. I'm more into NOLA jazz and second line, Americana, blues, etc.
I'm not a huge collector, but I do have 2 Ludwig Classic Maple kits and a Tama Silverstar, each 4 piece in different sizes. I also have a modest snare collection, mostly fairly modern, but including Slingerlands from 50s, 60s, and 70s. I'll attach a few pics and try to find some others when I'm back home.
That's about it for now!
