COST TO SHIP A BASS DRUM?

Shipping is currently outrageous for Bass Drums. I sold an 22" kick on ebay and cant find a way to ship it for less then $150. Does anyone have any suggestions? Recent experiences?

Should be less than 150.
Get a 26" cube box and cut down the height as much as possible still allowing for packing. Always remove the hoops. Going to a larger box will increase the price. Compare the ebay "print label" FedEx price to the PayPal "print label" UPS price. Both are considerably cheaper than book rates. Don t go to a UPS store or pack and ship place. If you want to save even more, remove all the hardware from the drum and use a 24 cube box and cut down the height.
Depending on depth of the drum and the from / to locations, you should be well under $100.
