Ok...for whoever has Dream Bliss...
What would you say my chances are of getting a real good 17" Crash by ordering online?
Yes, I've heard all the "you need to go listen to them in person" stuff. sorry,
that's impossible. Do I roll the dice and take my chances?

hey, i have no idea as regards consistency from one Dream cymbal to another but the quality to me is excellent.. im a convert.. a popular choice these days seems to be 17" and 19" crash ride's and they are superb!!
I would risk it without question.. i hope you get a great one and enjoy :)

gerry :)

It's a hit and miss but check this place out,as they have some really decent sound files.

I just bought a 19" off ebay (crash ride with 3 rivets...about 1600 grams)...no sound file so I took a chance on it. I'm in the dark until it shows up (maybe Tomorrow, probably Monday). I have my fingers crossed...

I wouldn't do it if the return policy isn't favorable. If you can return it then it's worth the risk.

If it sounds anything like that second 19" in the sound clip above I'm golden. Mine's within 10 grams of that one (not that that really means it will sound the same). It didn't show up today so maybe Monday. I didn't ask about the return policy (impulse bid) but if it's so bad I simply can't stand it maybe it will become a Christmas present to a young drummer I know with a less discerning ear.

I know that with Chinese made Turkish style cymbals from Wuhan and Stagg you have to sort through them to find the good ones. It would seem they pretty much ship everything they make, dogs included, (at least I've heard a lot of them). I was under the impression that the Dream Bliss cymbals were supposed to be more of the "cream" of production. Like someone is siphoning off the better ones and those get stamped as the Dream cymbals.
Is that true at all?
Even if it is it wouldn't necessarily mean that all of them would sound "good" to a particular individual since we're all looking for different things.

Well I hope you get a good one. Funny you mentioned Stagg, because a Stagg DH EXO was another one I'm looking into. I know a couple of respected drummers who say they're great, but again, I hear you need to pick & choose. The Stagg is basically the same price range as the Dream Bliss.

Do it. I love mine, and they're so cheap, if you get a dud you're not out too much.

I tried some a few years ago at at shop. no consistancy to my ears. but I did bid on a 14" crash, fits right in with my " bigger" zildjian and sabians.

Some are better than OK. Some are truly musical, and about half are real stinkers. Good luck, Benny K.

I have owned the 18" , 19 " & 22" Dream Bliss Crash Rides. I purchased the 18" and 22" on E-bay with out hearing them. I found them to be very complex, trashy cymbals ideal for jazz and alternative music.

I tried out the 19" at Pro Drum Shop in Hollywood and bought it because it was very responsive compared to the thicker cymbals there. The price was very nice too. Even though I am selling the 19" now, I feel it is a good cymbal line for that paper thin, complex, "old K" type of sound.

Got my cymbal earlier in the week. Haven't really had a chance to lay into yet since my wife always seems to be around. I'll get a chance over the weekend. Initially I think it sounds pretty good. Very low in pitch. Probably more of a crash than ride but we'll see. Not the best cymbal I've ever owned by any means but I think it will serve a purpose for me. Likely worth what I paid.
