"My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana. I said, 'No, but I want a regular banana later, so... yeah.'"

Sorry pork, I didn't intended to derail this thread into a collection of Hedberg jokes...but here we are. Glad that he's still appreciated.

'I saw this wino eating grapes and I was like "Dude, you have to wait."

I love Mitch. I don’t mind at all. My all time favorite:

“I don’t have a girlfriend, but I do know a woman who would be very mad at me for saying that.”

Man I've had his 3 cds on HEAVY rotation in my car for a few years.

Do you believe in gosh
Mitch altogether
Strategic grill location

Still listen to each of them at least once a year. By now my daughter knows them all by heart and i'ts become a sort of "comfort food" listenning.

RIP Mitch

Sorry OP...

Those are plendid Koa drums you've got there.

And I hope my first stave kit passes the test of time as well as yours did. Mine is a one of a kind instrument built from a local historic tree, it is irreplaceable, so I'd hate for it to crack or warp.

Beautiful! What’s the story with the tree?

I go down a Mitch rabbit hole about once per year too. I fall down the Norm MacDonald rabbit hole (bigger hole!) every few weeks it seems.

I've written about it in a lengthy thread here

Koa is an incredibly beautiful wood only from Hawai'i and one of my favorite woods...it's a type of Acacia and the only way Koa can be harvested (legally) is for it to be laying down on the forest floor dead. Up until the 60s and 70s, it was fairly common and used in lots of stuff...I'm new to drums but I have several all Koa basses which I bought in the late 80s and early 90s...pretty much any new guitars/basses you can buy these days only have Koa veneer or caps. It has skyrocketed in price (actually, all tone woods have)...I mean, have you priced American Ash lately ? Thanks to the Ash Borer, sadly we are losing our American Ash trees at a staggering rate.

Those Koa drums are beautiful!
