My NEW (used) Tama Star Walnut Kit!

Saw this kit pop up in my local Craigslist 2 days ago. Listed at $2800, I couldn't pass them up. Drums look like new!

Sizes are:
10x8
12x9
14x12
16x14
22x18

Dark Mocha Brown finish. I was surprised how light the drums were compared to my Bubingas. Hardware is top notch. Also got two Star Tom stands to go with the kit.

Haven't got a chance yet to properly set the drums up or get my preferred heads on them. I've been using EC2s over EC resos on my other Starclassic kits, so I'll probably try that first.

Great playing Dan. Drums sound great! I also use 2002 cymbals. We have a very similar sound!

With the lighter bass drum, have you noticed any issues with creeping forward? I use a rug and kick block, so shouldn't be a problem I think.

Yeah, stands too. Couldn't believe it when I saw it. And the drums basically look new.

Just installed a fresh set of clear G2s over G1s. My go-to combination for new drums. Great tone right off the bat! Toms are very resonant, but no weird overtones. Floor toms seem more rounded in sound compared to the Bubingas.

Definitely pleased with this kit.

I'm having a little trouble figuring out the Star Tom stand though. It's a new design and I'm having a hard time finding an example video showing how to properly set it up. I'm sure I'll figure it out in time.

The Star tom stand is designed as a single tom stand. May be hard or even impossible to get them close together above the 22” bass drum. From the pics you have them set up correct as designed for.
