I saw him play with Volto, a prog jazz band, at the Magic Bag in the D.

I had to move to the back of the small room because he was hitting so hard. I could literally feel the air coming off his cymbals.
Woah.

Yeah, it was cool and everything, but my ears got fatigued. He was hitting much too hard for that room imo. I've played there a bunch, they have a great system.

No change from him playing the Enormodome with Tool and crushing his set.

Well... though I posted before about despite being a big KC fan, that this show wasn't really on my short list. Because they had added some dates to their tour and included my town, and the other two guys in my band were really hot to see them, I got a ticket and am kind of excited to check it out. I've seen King Crimson and number of times over several decades and didn't feel all that compelled to check out a Fripp-less version of the band, where they're just doing old numbers. Still, I'm a big fan of Belew and Levin, so I figure that if they are part of this thing, it is likely to be very good and if I were to miss it, I might feel like I missed something worthy...

I watched one tune and was pleasantly surprised to see them change it up a bit to allow Vai to stretch out. Since I'm going to the Rochester show next month I'll refrain from watching any more. DC sounds great by the way, no nit picking from me. I'm psyched!

Count me as a DC partisan. His playing is awesome. Those videos show him being himself AND honoring BB’s original playing. Can’t wait for the show in Portland later this year.

Actually, probably is lol.
I’m already seeing comments in the 4 YouTube clips from that one show disparaging both DC and SV because they’re not playing 100% the same parts or in the same style as BB and RP. Just as expected. I wonder why they even went to the show to begin with. Oh well, moving on…
