Please pardon the slight digression…but I find this to be a pretty cool rendition by a different band covering a different era of the mighty KC. With some pretty cool orchestration though some pretty horrific video effects (IMO).

Just got to the venue in Richmond, VA. Looking forward to this show tonight!

Vai is indeed on fire in this, and I stand in amazement of him for creating such a successful amalgam of his and Fripp's styles in this.
Totally agree. I was blown away by the show last night in Richmond. Talk about the cream of the crop musicians! It truly was a thrill to see these guys!

Hopefully I am not violating any rules, but I happen to have an extra ticket for the Sherbert Theatre tomorrow night. Cost 200 but I am sure my buddy will take a lot less for someone cool! Just throwing it out there. Apologies if this is in the wrong thread. Should be a great show!

Update: Ticket sold. On to the show!!!

I had no problem adjusting to Danny’s playing style. Although different than Bill’s, he was present and true to the music’s vibe. If I had an issue it was with Vai gradually turning up the “Vai” factor as the tour progressed. As a die hard KC fan, the whammy bar dives right hand tapping WoW faces in leopard tights just didn’t fit with the assignment of being the sub for the lead member of an iconic band on a legacy tour. When Vai did focus on the song at hand he sounded great. Levin and Belew were absolutely incredible. If you have the opportunity to see them, do it. It might never happen again.

Saw them in Toronto last Friday. I have been to hundreds of concerts since the 70's. This show would be right up there with the best. I am still on a high. They were SOOOOOO good!! I did my first meet and greet ever and they were super nice guys. And sat in the second row. Do not miss this tour!

BEAT from Tuesday evening in Greensburg PA

WOW

Steve Vai was amazing!!!

Tony LEvin is just the baddest bad person of low end...EVER!

Steve and Adrian and Tony made that interlocking Crimsoid lines sing, swing, shuffle, slide, scream.... JUST amazing!

Carey did commendable job. Did miss that super tight popping snare sound though.

I really liked how both Vai and Carey didnt try to ape every single lick or solo from Bob and Bill.
