I loved the first one I ordered that I purchased a second one. Save this link. It may say Out of Stock, but every few days it gets resurrected when the seller adds another case. The reason I purchased one more is the quality, especially the zipper, and the fact that it claims to hold 5.5" deep snare drums. I managed to cram a 6.5" deep snare drum (George Way) with no real issues. I am in Florida and the last one I ordered arrived in a week:

Not a purchase, but I ordered a new Hella batter hoop for it, so that counts!
I got this in a trade with a forum member, thanks again Dingaling!
Sonor D516 snare drum in rosewood, in original condition.

14x6.5 beech, with rosewood inner and outer plies. Excited to really get to know this drum!

Also, I’m going to try the Hella hoops on my NOB Ludwig 5”. Very excited about that.

So semantically this may not be “my” latest “purchase,” as I actually purchased the mahogany version and was sent this in error (arrived today) - I can tell it’s not Mahogany because no re-rings! I think this one is Walnut! I really like the sound, I don’t feel like waiting, and, now that I think about it, my other two wood snares are actual vintage mahogany with rerings, so this is a better choice from a versatility angle anyway, so I think I’ll keep it!

This was to be the year of backing off buying more gear but in walking thru the local flea market today(one of the last days
of the season), I came across this.
Bargained with seller who also had a nice variety stack of Zildians, but I really do have enough cymbals
Appears to be a 77, Tama Superstar 6-1/2 x 14 , w/parallel action throw, muffler and die cast hoops.
Reason I say think 77 as the serial number has been scratched
Typically it has at least 1 lug mount broken.
Haven't dug thru all my catalogs to verify year as muffler style and snare wire tightness adjustment will be tell tale signs
I think its the Mahogany finish
Shell has one real small spot where seam is starting to come unglued, will be a 5 minute fix
Sorry for picture quality, shop has led lights and camera doesn't like them, and its to cold to take outside

So it’s definitely the walnut, and definitely a keeper! Switched from the stock Remo UT to a slightly broken in Aquarian Modern Vintage. Sounds better (and fits the practice kit aesthetic vibe). Call me crazy, but I think it would look even better with some Slingerland style Stick Savers!

Cool idea, I always enjoy reading the cymbal version so I know I will have fun watching this one as well!

Here is my latest snare, (I will post my latest kit tomorrow) a George Way 6.5”X14” Hollywood COB with a one off patina finish....

I’ve got that same snare! Literally :)

Here’s some awkward demos for anyone interested.

Sorry, cannot find the thread for non drums stuff so, here it is" I'm starting to rewire the studio with some upgrade from the previous units that are now in the basement for recording.
1)The Lexicon MX400 replaced the MX200, I got the MX400 for 150 US$!! even cheaper than the price I paid for the MX200...
2) Found a second M-ONE XL for cheap as well, 200 CAN$ I think?
3) Sony MU R201, first stereo units from Sony, Chris Lord Alge is using it on his snares on almost all his albums.
4) Another Sony for cheap, not here yet, DPS D7 Delay, I might try to get the Reverb DPS R7 or better, the Full effects last one produced, the DPS V77
5) Roland SRV 2000, I was lusting after it when I was a kid...

Ok, I could have bought Plugins but they are cheaper than plugs and with the mackie Onyx 1640i and the 6 send effects and full patchbay for all inputs and outputs, that's a no brainer and I like to tweak buttons so...

I'm still hesitating on a Roland SDE 3000 at 150 US$, the sound is gorgeous, I know it but it's only Mono in and Mono out, well, mono and dry so, more for guitar set up than studio, so...Anyone has one?

I purchased the 14 x 6-1/2 Superstar Mahogany mentioned above last Friday 12/22 and the seller showed me pics of more gear
I had asked for pics to be fwd but he never did.
Stopped back toady 12/29 and he had the drums, cymbals and hardware
His daughter explained he isn't the one who loaded the pics on his phone, she was and getting an email resoponce was......
Pics of what he is selling that I'm on the fence about
didn't have tape measure, but 99% sure 6,8,10,& 12 concert toms 14 & 16 floor 22 kick I believe its called Amber Honey
Same as the snare, the floors and kick serial numbers are scratched thur
Several 20's ,maybe an 18 & 16 and a few 14's all Zildjian
Looks like hardware for at least 2 sets
2 tackle boxes full of small parts
He threw a number at me of $1500 for everything, but its a flea market, sellers expect to go back and forth about price
I'm on the fence about the set as I haven't ever seen a Superstar with the 6-10 concert tom in person and I don't really need another kit
I didn't/couldn't spend to much time looking closely at the drums and cymbals., other than to realize they're in at least a 6-8/10 condition
How rare are the Superstar concert toms these days?

I believe those Supe concert toms are pretty rare. And awesome!

Just a great snare. One of the smoothest strainers on the market in my opinion. I have that and a trilogy snare which is also sounds fantastic, vintage sounding.
